Working Pattern: Permanent, full-time, 37.5 hours per week

Salary: £30,000 - £33,000 per annum

 

Lowri Beck is looking for a Training Programme & Systems Manager to join their Training Academy based in Ashton-in-Makerfield, Wigan.

 

The Programme & Systems Manager will lead & manage the team of Training Administrators in providing a customer focussed and professional service, ensuring the function meets the set service level agreements and KPIs.

 

The successful applicant will also be responsible for the management and scheduling of all training programmes/courses, managing the Training Academy systems (including the creation and implementation as appropriate), and ensuring that Training Academy data captured & reported is accurate, and as per the required SLA’s & KPI’s.

 

Growth of the Training Academy’s multi-media offering (e.g. e-learning), as well as implementation of electronic processes, and means of capturing competency requirements in line with awarding body and industry standards for training and assessment will also be required.

 

Key Accountabilities

  • Creating and maintaining an accurate, rolling, 12-month training plan that schedules all training and refreshers delivered by the Training Academy Trainers, allocating resource appropriately.

  • Supporting the Training Academy Manager in producing a 5-year plan as appropriate, based on training data and future business requirements.

  • Work with the Training Lead to ensure that any trainee leaving the academy has the appropriate equipment and certifications/qualifications that are required.

  • Tracking trainee progress and reporting and escalating issues as appropriate, whilst putting solutions in place.

  • Providing monthly reports to the Training Academy Manager that are accurate and provide the data for the Training Academy KPI’s as appropriate, including responsibility for monitoring and reporting on trainer utilisation.

  • Creating and maintaining efficient and streamlined training processes that are fit for purpose and reduce duplication across the administration/training function.

  • Line management of the Training Administrators, allocating work to individuals and holding frequent 121’s to track progress and performance, putting in place development plans if needed, and holding regular and documented team meetings to ensure updates are shared across the team.

  • Ensuring that the Training Academy reception has cover Monday – Friday from 8am - 5pm by implementing a fair and consistent rota for the administration team.

  • Implementation and team achievement of SLA’s for the admin function, that are aligned to the Training Academy strategy (SLA’s will be set in conjunction with the Training Academy Manger’s KPIs and adherence to the SLA’s is critical).

  • Implementing and monitoring/auditing a simple and effective training tracker that tracks trainee progression, and ensures all administration activities are carried out within the set SLA’s.

  • The management of all training related systems, current and expected future systems, which is likely to include e-Learning platforms, SharePoint, Cascade and/or other Learning Management Systems (LMS). There may also be a requirement to support the Training Academy Manager in implementation of future systems and software to deliver innovative training solutions.

  • Allocation of e-Learning to Lowri Beck staff as determined by competency frameworks put in place and reporting on completion rates as appropriate.

  • Work as part of the Training Academy Management team, supporting the rest of the team where needed and highlighting issues and suggesting improvements based on skills, knowledge, experience, and data.

  • Ensuring that all data captured within the function is captured accurately by the administration team, performing regular audits on their work.

  • Supporting the Training Academy Manager in implementing the Training Academy vision and strategy and related SLA’s/KPI’s. Responsible for the administration team working towards meeting the related SLA’s and KPI’s.

  • Any ad-hoc duties as requested by the Training Academy Manager or company leadership team.

 

What we are looking for

  • A good level of education, with a minimum of 5 GCSE’s at grade B or above (including Maths, English, & IT). A management (ILM or equivalent), PTLLS (or equivalent), or assessor qualification would be desirable.

  • Previous experience of managing an administration team within a fast-paced, commercial training environment (ideally within a similar industry). Including carrying our 121’s and providing development plans for staff.

  • Experience of working collaboratively across multiple functions (e.g. recruitment, Operations & HR) to understand business training requirements for the year ahead enabling accurate planning.

  • Experience of planning & managing a 12-month training plan for operational training within a similar industry (allocating resources as appropriate), which includes new starters and existing workforce upskills/refreshers as required by the business.

  • An understanding of awarding body and industry standard criteria for the training delivered within the Lowri Beck Training Academy (e.g. C&G, BPEC, NSAP, EUSR), & the operational roles within Lowri Beck that training is to be delivered for (particularly the Dual Fuel Meter Installer role).

  • Have excellent IT skills across a range of software & systems, including; Microsoft Office, & Learning Management System’s (LMS) – Is also open to developing existing IT/Systems skills.

  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal & written), with an ability to fully engage key stakeholders across the business.
