Working Pattern: Permanent / Full-Time / 37.5 hours per week / Monday - Friday

Salary: £32,000 - £36,000 per annum dependent on previous experience

 

We are looking for a Senior Business Analyst to join the Change Management team within our Data Services department based in Wigan. The role is aimed at someone with more than 4 years’ work experience as a Business Analyst, and the successful applicant will investigate, analyse and evaluate options for continuous improvement within the business to support the delivery of value to customers. The analyst will investigate and analyse complex business situations and process issues, to elicit and elaborate business requirements to ensure continued effectiveness and excellence of the business, ensuring the effective implementation and use of information systems in line with the needs of the business.

 

Key Accountabilities

  • Work as a senior team member to deliver continuous improvement and change management to the business.

  • To objectively analyse and document existing processes and systems and participate in their development and implementation.

  • Engage with key business stakeholders to understand business objectives and processes.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop business cases to support strategic objectives.

  • Collaborate with business operations teams and technical staff to gather and document business and functional requirements and, where needed, to support the creation of detailed functional specifications.

  • Review external documentation (external clients or industry) and provide information and solutions that fully meet the expectations of our business and our customers.

  • Develop, generate, and present reports to senior management, operations, support teams and external clients.

  • Produce written documentation identifying risks and dependencies early and proactively communicate these findings to key stakeholders.

  • Develop and control project documentation and operational delivery documentation.

  • Develop user acceptance test plans. Coordinate user acceptance testing by executing the testing strategy, scheduling resources and tracking test performance.

  • Develop and deliver user training, including documentation ensuring that an appropriate document control process is used.

  • Manage transition from projects to BAU and remain updated on current service issues and problem management.

  • Monitor and present, to key business users, on industry change / compliance / audits / industry reporting.

  • Develop understanding of the current and future technology landscape.

  • Ensure our quality standards and project methodologies are achieved and excelled upon.

  • Become a subject matter expert in our data, processes, and our business methodologies.

  • Understand and ensure data protection and standards are adhered to.

 

What we are looking for

  • A degree, relevant business analysis professional qualification or significant & relevant business experience.

  • 4+ years previous experience working as a Business Analyst which also includes previous team leadership/mentoring experience.

  • Have excellent knowledge of business analysis investigation techniques, including requirements management, the project lifecycle, and business case development

  • Preferably have prior knowledge of the utility and/or energy industry.

  • Have excellent analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving, & presentation skills.

  • Computer literate with the ability to work with the Microsoft Office suite of products.

  • Existing skills in SQL would be desirable.
