Working Pattern: Permanent, full-time, 37.5 hours per week

Salary: £43,000 per annum + car allowance


Lowri Beck are looking for an office-based Gas Technical Manager, to join our Technical Support department. This is a great opportunity to work for a well-established company, and you will play a key role within the department supporting field-based staff. The role will be office based at our Lowri Beck site in Wigan and will involve providing effective and quality technical gas support on all technical aspects. In addition, you will also assist Technical Managers, Senior Meter Technicians and Line Managers in producing technical reports and aiding complaint resolutions.


Key Accountabilities

  • Provide Gas and metering technical support to a cross section of the business.

  • Provide on-demand technical advice to Lowri Beck meter operatives.

  • Liaise with Field Operations Management team to ensure Lowri Beck meter fixing operatives maximize performance and customer service.

  • Carry out complaint investigation associated with meter operations activity & liaise with Lowri Beck managers to agree appropriate technical reviews and improvement plans if required.

  • Chairs/participates in disciplinary and/or capability procedures as appropriate.

  • Arrange and deliver training, coaching, and counselling (as required) to Lowri Beck company standards within area of responsibility.

  • Participate in toolbox talks in association with Field Operations Management team.

  • Provide technical advice and assistance as required to other Lowri Beck departments.


What we are looking for

  • 4 years previous technical management experience working within the gas industry, including prior gas meter installation experience.

  • Experience providing gas technical advice & support.

  • Detailed knowledge of industry metering standards, configurations & legislation.

  • Knowledge of Gas Safe Registration/IGEM Codes of Practice.

  • Knowledge of MCM CoP, AMI & SMICoP

  • Hold a full UK driving licence with no more than 3 penalty points.

  • Be computer literate with ability to operate Microsoft Office.
