Smart Meter Installation

How is Lowri Beck keeping customers safe during smart meter installation visits?

Lowri Beck are committed to keeping customers and staff safe throughout the COVID-19 outbreak and are committed to ensuring that we take all necessary action as a COVID-19 Secure Employer.

  • When you book an installation appointment we will ask you if:
  • You or anyone in your household has been diagnosed with COVID-19
  • You or anyone in your household has been advised to self-isolate

Anyone in your household is at higher risk and shielding – i.e. is over 70 or suffering from health concerns like diabetes, etc.

If you answer ‘yes’ to any of these screening questions we will work with you to assess whether this is the right time to fit your smart meter. We will always priorities emergencies and ensure we keep vulnerable customers safe.

Our engineers will also call ahead on the day of your appointment and ask the same set of questions, just in case anything has changed since the appointment was booked.

All our engineers have received training on COVID-19 controls and protective measures, so when an engineer does visit your house you can be sure that they are taking the right additional precautions. These include:

  • Social distancing – keeping at least two meters away throughout the visit and ensuring that they are not working in the same room as you.
  • Hand washing – all engineers are required to wash their hands regularly and/or use sanitizers.
  • PPE – all engineers are provided with disposable gloves and a protective face shield.
  • Sanitizer wipes – all engineers are required to wipe down all surfaces and equipment that they have been in contact with.

All of our engineers are working hard to protect you and your families by following a clear safety protocol – all that we ask is that you follow their advice and keep safe.
