Hours of Work: Permanent / Full-time / 48 hours per week /20:00 – 08:00 / 4 on 4 off rolling shift pattern

Salary: £21,765

 

*Please note that all permanent night positions are subject to a night worker health assessment, and due to Health & Safety Regulations, overnight positions require you to be over the age of 18*

 

We are looking for a customer service advisor to join the emergency team based within our contact centre in Wigan. You will be booking, allocating and advising on gas and electric emergency metering situations, and will also be first line call handling dealing with metering queries and enquiries regarding metering appointments from customers and/or suppliers.

Key accountabilities:

  • Handle calls with suppliers and/or their customers in regards to emergency/dangerous metering situations, advising on the best course of action.

  • Book emergency appointments on the internal system

  • Allocate emergency jobs following a set procedure of reporting

  • Liaise with suppliers and queries on booking flow appointments and advising lead times

  • Collating required information & reporting accordingly dangerous meter situations such as gas leaks’, ensuring the relevant procedure is put into place

  • Liaising with field operatives and managers, often to resolve emergency situations including allocating emergency jobs

 

What we are looking for:

  • Good level of education (GCSE or A Level)

  • Excellent telephone manner

  • Experience working in a fast paced environment, with previous customer service experience (ideally telephone based or customer facing) being advantageous

  • Computer literate with the ability to operate Microsoft Office and email

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work as part of a team and using own initiative

  • Good organisational and administrational skills
